I have actually been very busy recently blogging……… for everyone else and completely neglected my own blog! It is a terrible shame!

So I am making a new promise to myself to update at least once a week with all my new photography and design projects or jobs I am working on.

Jewellery Shoot

I have shot portfolios for jewellery designers. This is the latest one I have had the pleasure of shooting.

Melanie Hand has been involved in many shows and fairs such as Marlay house craft fair,  Dunlaoghaire winter fair in Dalkey Castle and the National Crafts and Design Fair in the RDS.

I have experience shooting all types of commercial portfolios, from art and sculpture to jewellery and other commercial articles and materials both on location and in the studio. I understand the need for creative advertising and will push the limits to create an exciting viewpoint on your product where relevant.

Dublin City Centre

The grass is always greener………….

When you go to a different city,  you notice everything, you take in your surroundings and everything seems more exciting then home. It is hard to put a different view into your mind of a city you grew up in, a city you visit when you are going to work, going shopping or socializing. Always too busy to step back and view it like you have never seen it before.

I recently took a trip on the viking splash tour and enjoyed it immensely. It drove up and down all the roads I thought I knew. But I knew nothing about them. It was great to see what the tourists see, what the tourists are shown.

Here is a view I had of Dublin city very early one morning. I managed to see it without the pubs spilling out onto the streets and without the manic shoppers on a mission for bargains and without the drones to-ing and fro-ing from the office.

 

Dublin City Centre looks amazing….. when you take the time to look.

It’s a big con job. We have sold the myth of Dublin as a sexy place incredibly well; because it is a dreary little dump most of the time.

Blackrock Market Website

Blackrock Market has undergone a huge transformation. I have designed a new website and taken Photographs to update their online profile. There is a huge amount of unseen treasures hidden down in the market and its a shame that they go unnoticed.

From Original Art, to antiques, to comics to makeup and beauty accessories  to secondhand clothes Blackrock Market has it all.

It is great to support these local and small businesses. And whether you are looking for small items such as jewellery or large objects such as beanbags or slob slabs they can all be found in the market. It was great fun shooting objects in this market, we got to play on the beanbags and sample the scrummy mummy cupcakes so we were delighted!
